| Flautist living and working in the Netherlands. Studied flute with Professor Doris Keogh at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and later continued my studies of flute and improvisation with Dick Gout,Ferdinand Povel, and Dick de Graaf at the Rotterdam Conservatory.I've played with various jazz and jazz-rock groups as well as playing tenor sax in a rock band for a while;in two classical flute quartets and in the Blauwdruk Ensemble which was formed to perform the works of contemporary Dutch composer Nico Huijbregts. At present, besides teaching flute at two music schools I'm experimenting with creating frameworks for improvisation using computer based programs and sound loops and recording these pieces in my own Overloop Studio. |

How would you describe the band if you were a pressman or an
editor? |
Flute up front with original themes and improvisations against a background of danceable grooves.
|
What type of music do you play? |
At present I'm mostly working in jazz oriented Electro Lounge and Hip Hop styles with the flute featured as main instrument accompanied by sound loops which for the most part are created by MAGIX.
|
What have you released to date? |
To date I've released two albums: ''Out of the Box'' which features original work for flute using Band in a Box as accompaniment in funk, rap, hip hop, african and smooth jazz styles, and ''On Wicklow's Way" which has a mostly ambient feel and is inspired by the quiet open spaces and beautiful vistas one encounters on this long distance walk in County Wicklow,Ireland

When are you planning your next release? |
''THREE MINUTE JAZZ'' has just been released and reviewed. Check out my Homepage for further info.

Where are you planning for your next shows? |
When Shakespeare observed that ''all the world's a stage'' I don't believe he had the internet in mind! I suppose that with a little fantasy you could say that, at the moment, thanks to the web I've got a running gig with the planet as stage and cyberspace as the auditorium.
